CIUDAD DE MÉXICO, México, abr. 28, 2009.- El actor y cantante Pedro Infante Torrentera falleció, de acuerdo con el acta de defunción, como consecuencia de las 12 puñaladas que él mismo se propició en el estómago y no a causa de neumonía como se dio a conocer.Fue hijo de Lupita Torrentera, actriz y bailarina de la llamada Época de Oro del cine mexicano. Le sobreviven cuatro hijos: Pamela, Paulina, Pedro y Lupita.
Infante Jr. actuó en más de 80 filmes, entre ellos Rosita Alvirez, destino sangriento (1982), La muerte del palomo (1981), La noche del Ku-Klux-Klan (1980) y
Dimas de León (1979). Su última película, Cuatro meses de libertad, se filmó en 1998.
